Bubblegum flavoured concrete anyone?

Now-a-days, construction companies are using scented form release agents to impart a pleasant smell in concrete, the most famous being bubble gum. We didn’t opt for this however. But now that the first floor is in place, it’s time to concrete it.

Downstairs we have a beam and block combination and in order to duplicate this upstairs, we have put metal slacks down in which the concrete will be poured on-top of. After which we will have to flatten the mix in order to make it level.

Interestingly, the use of concrete traces back to ancient Egypt, used as an infill material for the pyramids – If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

There are still more layers that need to go on-top of the concrete like the insulation, membrane and screed. But for now, it’s all about the concrete.
